Almost a selective narrative going on with the 5 small objects seeking a sheltering place for themselves. Each one fits exactly into the box and all five are vying for that position. In the end it will be touch and go which one actually docks itself into the station.

Bathroom window sculpture (She came in through....)
The structure is based on a view of my bathroom window. The coverings are pictures of Christmas trees. The intrusion is made up of pictures of the conservatory dissected and restructured. Possibly a maquette for a full size sculpture.

Holly Balls (sculpture disguising itself as a Christmas decoration)
The sculpture was made about two years ago but has been hidden away in a box. It was exhibited on the Christmas tree as a structure that was meant to complement and fit with its surroundings. It is an extension of work that I started in 1969 when I made a series of sculptures out of either No 6 cigarette packets or Swan Vesta matchboxes which were then left on buses or park benches for anybody to find or take away. In the early 80's I extended the idea of sculpture that would be found as part of the environment by inserting small wooden structures into corners of telephone boxes. The structures were reminiscent of such things as swallow nests.

Riot in a jewellery box
Its a play on the idea of jewellery. It doesn't act as normal piece of jewellery because it is meant to be exhibited in its box, not worn. The images are ones of the London Riots which have been a theme in my work in the past.

Syria Film (The Sky is Falling)
The project started out as a series of sculptures by Dave Stephens which then inspired this film, created by Will (with creative guidance from Dave), using Cinema 4D.

Fossil (4x4).
In recent months I have been making small sculptures that are based on the grid system on a cutting mat. I am tending to keep them in sets of 4 with each one using the same picture. The small cubic individual structures tends to look like a building that is opened up to the outside. This is because each one was influenced by a newspaper picture that I saw of a set of buildings in a war zone that had been bombed and shelled so that parts of their structure were missing. The rock in the centre contains the fossil of what looks like a leaf which I found on a beach in Dorset. The photos are of leaves and ornaments from a Christmas tree.

Willow Pattern Saucer
Small personal possessions that used to be my mother's property when she was alive. The saucer was broken by a seagull who we were feeding who got impatient for us to bring some more food and threw the saucer on the floor off a garden table.

Dorset Tornado
Something about the breaking sound that seems to say stick me back together. It doesn't really say how though. Smashing really, or maybe smashing reality.

Tornado Balls
The images are from newspaper cuttings of the Ohio Tornado. They are contained in a tea box that has been quartered.

Caroline's Marble Goddess
I was asked what I wanted for my birthday and said that I would like an ornament from a charity shop that cost less than £5. This is the one that Caroline bought which made a start for a new sculpture. The picture surfaces are made up of photocopies of the marble sculpture that have been chopped up and reassembled.

Our Cosmic Burden
This is possibly the first photo that I have of them all together. There are 16 of them and they can be exhibited in any format really but normally I didn't envisage them so crowded together. Pushing them together though makes it look like a protest meeting which is rather nice.
Had a photo session a couple of weeks ago with Matt Page taking the photos in a studio session so will be posting a variety of them over the next few weeks.

Our cosmic burden (Betty Boop)
This is part of the 16 piece sculpture Our Cosmic Burden. It can be exhibited in a variable way but usually in a variation on a grid formation. Sometimes on plinths but sometimes on the floor.
