Willow Pattern Saucer

Small personal possessions that used to be my mother's property when she was alive. The saucer was broken by a seagull who we were feeding who got impatient for us to bring some more food and threw the saucer on the floor off a garden table.

Pixelated face glasses

Trying to think about the ways that we view ourselves. The pieces stuck on the glasses are made up from a picture of David Beckham's butt.

Dorset Tornado

Something about the breaking sound that seems to say stick me back together. It doesn't really say how though. Smashing really, or maybe smashing reality.

Tornado Balls

The images are from newspaper cuttings of the Ohio Tornado. They are contained in a tea box that has been quartered. 

Caroline's Marble Goddess

I was asked what I wanted for my birthday and said  that I would like an ornament from a charity shop that cost less than £5. This is the one that Caroline bought which made a start for a new sculpture. The picture surfaces are made up of photocopies of the marble sculpture that have been chopped up and reassembled.

Football Riot.

More scenes from the London Riots. No real connection with football although when I was kid that's where most of the riots started. Like with the coconuts piece I really just wanted a fairly innocent enclosure for a more dramatic spurt of energy. Kind of cracking the atom.

Riot glasses

Updated version of Riot Glasses 1 at top and also 2 others from the series clockwise Riot Glasses 2 and Ohio Tornado Glasses. Each one of the series uses photographs from epic news stories which are then recomposed by collaging them onto objects and reforming them.
