Again this comes from Landscape Walking. The structures are based on photos of a section of the landscape near Ditching Beacon.

Landscape in a Frame
This started from the film Landscape Walking which led me to work with a series of images that were generated from the location that the film was set in.

Framed Barrier
A couple of years ago I kept passing a set of road barriers in Brighton which just seemed amazing. There were dozens of them blocking a small lane between the houses. I kept putting off photographing them but eventually set myself a task of doing it. When I arrived the road workers were just beginning to take the barriers down. Almost fate really that if I had left it a few hours more they would have been gone completely. This piece is trying to contain the barriers in a space which is then expanding upon itself, a kind of barrier within a barrier. Negative space contained within the centre of the structure as a kind of window within the framework.

pink satellite candlestick
Structure within a structure. Like a growth on a tree which then becomes a part of the tree. The form is dictated by the structure and vise versa.

Pudding box
A multiple which is constrained by the perimetre of the box. Each one fits into the box. I made this over the Christmas period last year and iontended to post it just before the recent Christmas but never got round to it. I have had lots of thoughts recently about the way that things fit into other things. We seem to coordinate our lives by cramming one thing into another. I like the idea of a travelling sculpture that fits neatly into a suitcase. Considering making sets of sculptures that fit into such things as rucksacks.
